Frequently Asked Questions
Money pulling cakes at Ting's Bakery start from $150, and the pull mechanism is included in that price.
Most of our 61 designs are priced between $150 and $170, with larger 3D and sculpted designs going up to $230. The cash you put inside is separate and entirely up to you.

You do not need to hand over any cash in person. Add the amount you want hidden inside the cake to your order and pay it together with the cake using PayNow.
Payment is a single PayNow transfer to our UEN 53394429E (Tings Bakery), covering both the cake and the cash for the mechanism. Our team prepares the notes and loads them into your cake, so there is nothing for you to drop off or arrange separately.

Yes. The notes sit inside a dedicated internal box that acts as a physical barrier, completely separating the currency from the cake sponge and cream.
We do not wrap the notes individually in plastic. In our experience, individual wrappers significantly increase the risk of the money jamming mid-pull, so the sealed internal box does the hygiene job instead while keeping the pull smooth. The cake itself stays fully hygienic and ready to eat.

Twenty notes. That is the limit on every money pull cake we make.
The limit comes from the size of the internal mechanism and the structure of the cake. Beyond 20 notes the roll becomes too bulky, which increases tension and makes it harder to pull fluidly. Twenty keeps the reveal long enough for photos and videos while the mechanism works reliably every time.

There is no add-on fee. The mechanism is already included in the listed price of the cake.
The price you see covers the design, the baking and the specialised assembly for the hidden surprise. The only separate amount is the cash you choose to put inside.

No. The mechanism only takes standard Singapore currency notes.
Our internal boxes are built to the exact dimensions and paper thickness of Singapore notes. TOTO and 4D tickets are a different size and texture, they do not roll correctly, and they are very likely to jam inside the cake.

No. The mechanism sits in the centre and the cake is built around it, so there is still a generous amount of cake to serve.
Our bakers use specific layering techniques to maximise the sponge and cream around the internal box. Once the money has been pulled out and it is time to cut the cake, there is plenty for everyone.

Stay calm and pull very gently, straight upwards. Do not use force or yank the topper, as that can tear the cake or damage the internal box.
Jams are rare, because we do not use the individual plastic wrappers that normally cause friction. If the notes catch slightly, a slow and steady hand is usually all that is needed to keep the surprise flowing to the last note.

We will always try to source new notes from the bank, but we cannot guarantee it, because it depends on the bank's stock when your cake is prepared.
What we do promise is clean, high-quality notes every time, so the reveal still looks elegant and festive.

Cream-based cakes must be kept in the fridge. Full fondant designs should be kept in a cool, air-conditioned room instead.
If cream cakes have some fondant decorations, they must be kept in the fridge as well. Only fully fondant-covered cakes should not go in the fridge, because condensation forms on the surface once you take it out, which can make colours run or the fondant turn sticky. If you are not sure which type you have, message us and we will tell you.
