Mahjong Cake Singapore: Hand-Made Edible Tiles, 4D and Casino Themes

Tings Bakery has been making mahjong cakes in Singapore since 2019, from our own SFA-licensed kitchen at The Adelphi in City Hall. Every tile on our mahjong cakes is edible and hand-made, shaped individually rather than pressed from a mould, with the face markings piped and painted one at a time. If they still talk about a particular winning hand, send it to us and we will lay that exact hand out in edible tiles.

What Is a Mahjong Cake?

A mahjong cake is a birthday cake built around the game, usually featuring edible mahjong tiles and often a recreation of the table itself.

It is a gift cake rather than a self-bought one. Nobody orders a mahjong themed cake for their own birthday; they order it for a father, a mother, an uncle, a grandmother or the group they play with every week. That changes what makes it good: the point is recognition, not decoration. Anyone who plays will look at the tiles first, and a cake with tiles that are almost right is worse than one that does not try.

What a mahjong cake from Tings Bakery includes:

• Hand-made edible mahjong tiles, shaped and painted individually
• Any tile combination you want, including a specific winning hand
• 4D, TOTO and casino themes, alone or combined
• Chinese lettering topper or printed, including 發 and 壽
• A money pulling mechanism at no extra cost
• A chocolate-piped message on the cake board

Why Singapore Customers Choose Tings Mahjong Cakes

Hand-Made Edible Tiles

Each tile is shaped by hand rather than pressed from a mould, which is why the sets on our cakes are not identical to one another, the same way a real set is not. Bamboos, characters, circles, winds and dragons are all drawn tile by tile.

We Will Recreate Their Winning Hand

Send us the tiles as a photo, a written list or a screenshot from a mahjong app, and we will lay that exact hand out on the cake. Nobody else in Singapore offers this.

4D, TOTO and Casino Themes Too

We print 4D slips with their own numbers, and build poker chip, playing card, roulette and dice designs. Mahjong, 4D and casino mix well on one cake.

Chinese Lettering Piped or Printed

發, 壽 and other characters printed or in topper form in the placement and script style you want.

Add a Money Pull

For a gambling-themed birthday it is the obvious combination: the cake pays out. Up to twenty notes in any denomination, included in the cake price.

Made in Our Own Licensed Kitchen

Every cake is made at our shop address under SFA Food Shop Licence CE20L85J000.

How It Works

Step 1: Choose a Design or Send Us the Hand

Browse our 28 mahjong and casino designs, or WhatsApp +65 9169 9195 with the tiles, the 4D numbers or the theme you want.

Step 2: Tell Us What Goes On It

Chinese characters, a specific tile combination, real 4D numbers, a name. Send the exact detail so we can confirm it rather than guess.

Step 3: Add a Money Pull If You Want One

Tell us the cash amount and the denomination. You pay it with the order by PayNow and we load the notes.

Step 4: Confirm and Pay

Full payment secures the slot, because the date is not held until payment is received. PayNow to UEN 53394429E.

Step 5: Delivery or Collection

We deliver in a 12pm to 3pm or 3pm to 6pm window, or you collect free from The Adelphi.

Mahjong Cake Prices

Our 28 mahjong and casino designs run from $150 to $230. The price reflects the tile work: a design with a full wall or a specific hand takes considerably longer than a piped one, because every tile is shaped and painted by hand.

Mahjong Cake Designs for Every Player

A mahjong cake is a birthday cake built around the game someone actually plays. Our 28 designs cover the range.

Tile cakes put the tiles themselves front and centre: a fanned hand, a stacked wall, a single dramatic 發.

Table cakes recreate the whole scene: the green baize, the tiles mid-game, dice, a teacup, a pair of reading glasses left beside the rack.

Combination cakes bring in what else the person likes: 4D slips, a pineapple for prosperity, a longevity peach for a milestone birthday, cutlery and a mahjong set on the same board.

Wall and dice designs for a cleaner, more graphic look, where the tiles are arranged rather than scattered.

Casino crossovers with poker chips or cards alongside the tiles, for someone whose habits run wider than mahjong.

Fully custom. Send us a photo of their actual set, their actual table, or their actual winning hand.

How We Make the Edible Mahjong Tiles

Our mahjong tiles are hand-made and edible, and this is the part of the cake that takes the longest.

Each tile is shaped by hand rather than pressed from a mould, which is why the sets on our cakes are not identical to one another, the same way a real set is not. The face markings are piped and painted individually. Bamboos, characters, circles, winds, dragons: all of it is drawn by hand, tile by tile, in the right colours and the right order.

Three things follow from that. The tiles are edible, so nothing has to come off the cake before serving. The set has small variations, which is what makes it read as real rather than printed. And intricate tile work needs more lead time than a piped design, so if you want a full wall or a specific fifteen-tile hand, tell us early and give us the week.

Put Their Winning Hand on the Cake

If they still talk about a particular hand, we can put it on the cake.

Send us the tiles as a photo, a written list, or a screenshot from a mahjong app, and we will lay that exact hand out in edible tiles. A completed 清一色, a big win from a family gathering they have not stopped mentioning, or the hand they claim they would have had.

It is the most personal version of this cake we make, and as far as we know nobody else in Singapore offers it. Message us on +65 9169 9195 with the hand and the birthday date, and give us the full week if the hand has a lot of tiles in it.

Add a Money Pull to a Mahjong Cake

You can build a money pulling mechanism into any mahjong cake, and for a gambling-themed birthday it is the obvious combination: the cake pays out.

Pull the topper and a string of cash notes comes out, up to twenty notes in any denomination you choose. Common combinations:

You pay the cash amount with your order by PayNow to UEN 53394429E and we prepare and load the notes, so nobody has to hand over an envelope on the day.

The mechanism is included in the cake price at no extra cost. We already make 4D Lottery money pulling designs with mahjong tiles, so this is a well-worn combination rather than a special request. See Money Pulling Cakes.

Mahjong Cakes for Chinese New Year

Mahjong is the most Chinese New Year product we make, and reunion-week birthdays are the hardest to cater for because everyone is already eating.

A mahjong cake with 發 lettering, a pineapple for prosperity, or a full 4D-and-tiles design fits the table without competing with it. Add a money pull and the ang bao is built in.

The weeks before Chinese New Year are the busiest of our year and slots fill first. If the birthday falls in that window, order early.

Sizes and Servings

Measurements are the diameter, not the height. A table design reads best at 10 inch or larger, because the tiles need room to be legible. On an 8 inch, keep the design to a fanned hand or a single 發 rather than a full table scene.
