Tings Bakery has been making 21st birthday cakes in Singapore since 2019, from our own SFA-licensed kitchen at The Adelphi in City Hall. A 21st is the one birthday where the cake is expected to do something, so any of our 161 designs can be built with a money pulling mechanism, a pinata smash or an explosion bomb reveal at no extra cost. We deliver to restaurants, bars and function rooms, coordinated with the venue.

What Makes a 21st Birthday Cake Different

A 21st birthday cake carries more weight than most birthday cakes, because it is usually organised by someone other than the person celebrating and it is almost always filmed.

Three things follow from that. The cake needs a moment, which is why the surprise formats matter more here than at any other age. It needs to photograph well under bad lighting, because a 21st happens at night in a restaurant or a bar. And it needs to arrive at a venue rather than a house, on a schedule that fits a booking.

Step 1: Choose a Design or Send Us a Photo

Browse our 161 designs, or WhatsApp +65 9169 9195 with a reference photo, the theme and the date.

Step 2: Pick Your Surprise Format

Tell us whether you want a money pull, a pinata smash, a bomb reveal, a burnaway or a straight cake. We will tell you which one will actually work in your venue.

Step 3: Confirm and Pay

Full payment secures the slot, including the cash amount if you are adding a money pull. PayNow to UEN 53394429E.

Step 4: Tell the Venue

If your cake involves a sparkler, tell the restaurant in advance. Most are happy to help time the moment once they know what is involved. Springing it on them mid-service is how you get told no.

Step 5: Delivery to the Venue

We deliver in a 12pm to 3pm or 3pm to 6pm window. For an evening party, book the 3pm to 6pm slot and have someone at the venue to receive it.

Make It a Surprise

Money pulling. Pull the topper and a string of cash notes comes out of the cake. Twenty-one notes is the natural structure for a 21st. See Money Pulling Cakes.

Explosion bomb. The cake arrives sealed inside a black shell with a sparkler on the outside. Light it, stand back, and the shell springs open within seconds. This is the one people film. See Explosion Bomb Cakes.

Pinata smash. A solid chocolate dome over the cake, plus a free wooden mallet. Loud, physical, and very hard to be self-conscious about. See Pinata Cakes.

Burnaway. The top layer burns away to reveal a hidden photo or message. The quietest of the four, and the one that works when the 21st is a small dinner rather than a party. See Burnaway Cakes.

Measurements are the diameter, not the height. Two notes specific to a 21st: if the cake is coming out after a full restaurant dinner, most guests will take a small slice and you can size down one step. If it is a party with drinks and no meal, size up.

Most 21st birthday cakes go to a venue rather than a home, so the logistics matter more than usual.

For 21st birthday cake delivery to a restaurant, give us the venue name, the full address and a contact person there. Most restaurants will receive and chill a cake for an evening booking if they know it is coming, and we will coordinate that with them.

A single 10 inch serves 13 to 25, and an 8 inch plus 10 inch two-tier covers 36 to 45. All measurements are the diameter of the cake, not the height. If the cake comes out after a full restaurant dinner you can size down one step, and if it is a party with drinks and no meal, size up.
