What Is a Money Pull Cake?
A money pull cake is a cake with a built-in pull box that holds real cash notes inside. When the string or topper is pulled gently upwards, the notes come out one after another in a continuous stream.
At Ting’s Bakery the notes are folded and loaded into a hygienic internal sleeve that sits inside the cake, keeping the cash completely separate from the sponge and cream. The notes are not individually wrapped in plastic, because loose wrappers are the most common cause of a jam mid-pull.
How Much Money Can You Put in a Money Pulling Cake?
Up to 20 notes in the standard mechanism. The notes are arranged in one sequence so they pull out smoothly as a single reveal, and the total depends on the denomination you choose.
You do not need to hand us the cash. Add the amount you want inside the cake to your order and pay it together with the cake using Paynow, and we prepare and load the notes for you.
Not sure how much to put in? WhatsApp us at 9169 9195 with your budget and event date and we will suggest a combination that pulls smoothly.
Birthday Cake With Money: Best Occasions
A birthday cake with money inside works best when you want a cash gift to feel personal rather than transactional. Instead of handing over an ang bao, the celebrant pulls the notes out in front of everyone.
- 21st birthdays usually with casino, luxury or personalised hobby themes
- Longevity birthdays at 50, 60, 70 and 80, paired with peach, pineapple or mahjong designs
- Graduations, where a practical cash gift lands better than another keepsake
- Retirement parties, as a shared farewell moment for colleagues and family
- Chinese New Year gatherings, with prosperity themes and a hongbao-style reveal
- Milestone anniversaries and corporate long-service celebrations

Frequently Asked Questions
Most of our 61 designs are priced between $150 and $170, with larger 3D and sculpted designs going up to $230. The cash you put inside is separate and entirely up to you.
Payment is a single PayNow transfer to our UEN 53394429E (Tings Bakery), covering both the cake and the cash for the mechanism. Our team prepares the notes and loads them into your cake, so there is nothing for you to drop off or arrange separately.
We do not wrap the notes individually in plastic. In our experience, individual wrappers significantly increase the risk of the money jamming mid-pull, so the sealed internal box does the hygiene job instead while keeping the pull smooth. The cake itself stays fully hygienic and ready to eat.
The limit comes from the size of the internal mechanism and the structure of the cake. Beyond 20 notes the roll becomes too bulky, which increases tension and makes it harder to pull fluidly. Twenty keeps the reveal long enough for photos and videos while the mechanism works reliably every time.
The price you see covers the design, the baking and the specialised assembly for the hidden surprise. The only separate amount is the cash you choose to put inside.
Our internal boxes are built to the exact dimensions and paper thickness of Singapore notes. TOTO and 4D tickets are a different size and texture, they do not roll correctly, and they are very likely to jam inside the cake.
Our bakers use specific layering techniques to maximise the sponge and cream around the internal box. Once the money has been pulled out and it is time to cut the cake, there is plenty for everyone.
Jams are rare, because we do not use the individual plastic wrappers that normally cause friction. If the notes catch slightly, a slow and steady hand is usually all that is needed to keep the surprise flowing to the last note.
What we do promise is clean, high-quality notes every time, so the reveal still looks elegant and festive.
If cream cakes have some fondant decorations, they must be kept in the fridge as well. Only fully fondant-covered cakes should not go in the fridge, because condensation forms on the surface once you take it out, which can make colours run or the fondant turn sticky. If you are not sure which type you have, message us and we will tell you.
You can verify this yourself on the Singapore Food Agency portal under Track Records. Search "Tings Bakery" in the business name field to see our licensing details and track record.
Weekends, public holidays and the weeks before Chinese New Year fill up first. WhatsApp us at 9169 9195 with your date before assuming it is not possible.
