We understand that the word "explosion" might sound a bit intense, but rest assured, it is not a real explosion! The effect is purely theatrical and designed to create a wow moment without any actual danger. To achieve this, we use a specially designed sparkler that mimics the look of a burning fuse on a classic bomb. When lit, it provides a beautiful, celebratory sparkle that eventually leads to the reveal of the cake inside.

Because there is no combustion or force involved, it is perfectly safe to use in Singapore homes, including HDB flats, and most event venues.

However, if you are planning to host your celebration at a restaurant, we always recommend being a good guest and asking the staff for permission before lighting the sparkler. Most establishments are happy to accommodate the spectacle once they know it is a standard, safe sparkler effect.

The outer shell of the explosion bomb cake is not edible. It is crafted from a high-quality, durable plastic casing. While you cannot eat the shell, it offers a fantastic benefit: it serves as a wonderful keepsake!

Once the celebration is over and the cake has been enjoyed, you can easily clean the shell and use it as a unique storage container or a decorative treasure box for your keepsakes. Many of our customers love repurposing the bomb casing to hold small mementoes or even as a quirky display piece in their rooms, giving you a lasting memory of the event long after the last slice of cake is gone.

Inside the sleek black bomb casing lies the true star of the show: a fresh, delicious 1 kg cake. This is typically a 6-inch cake, which is the perfect size to fit snugly within the spherical shell while still providing enough servings for a standard celebration.

A 1 kg cake generally serves about 8 to 12 people, making it an ideal choice for family gatherings or intimate birthday parties. We make sure that the cake is securely positioned inside so that when the shell is opened, the design is perfectly preserved and ready to be admired and eaten by your guests.

While the idea of a surprise within a surprise is incredibly exciting, we generally do not recommend placing heavy or high-value items like an iPhone or jewelry directly inside the shell with the cake. The space inside is quite precisely fitted for the 6-inch cake, and adding extra items can sometimes interfere with the opening mechanism or accidentally smudge the cake’s frosting.

However, we always want to help you make your vision a reality. If you have a specific small gift in mind, please contact us directly. We can discuss the feasibility of your request and see if we can safely accommodate your surprise without compromising the cake or the mechanism.

We want to make your celebration as seamless as possible, so every explosion bomb cake comes with the necessary sparkler included. This sparkler acts as the "fuse" to kick off the big reveal.

However, due to safety and logistical reasons, we do not provide a lighter.

You can use any standard household lighter to ignite the sparkler, but for the best and safest experience, we highly recommend using a handheld kitchen lighter (the kind with a long neck). This allows you to keep a comfortable distance from the sparkler as you light it, ensuring the moment is both spectacular and perfectly safe for everyone involved.

You do not have to worry about setting off any smoke detectors. The sparkler we provide is designed for indoor celebratory use and produces a very minimal, negligible amount of smoke. It is much like the sparklers you see on birthday cakes in restaurants. It will create a beautiful, sparkling light effect for a few moments, but it certainly will not fill your dining room or restaurant with a cloud of smoke. You can focus entirely on the excitement of the reveal without worrying about the air quality of your venue.

We know how important the presentation of the cake is, and we have designed the experience with that in mind. The sparkler is positioned on the exterior of the plastic casing, and the casing itself remains closed while the sparkler is burning. This acts as a protective shield for your dessert. Because the cake is fully enclosed within the plastic shell during the burn, there is no risk of soot, ash, or any residue landing on your cake. When the shell is opened, the cake inside will be just as pristine and appetising as the moment it left our bakery.

One of the great advantages of the plastic casing is that it is completely heat-resistant and will not melt, unlike chocolate shells. You do not have to worry about the "bomb" losing its shape if the room is a bit warm or if the celebration goes on a little longer than expected.

However, keep in mind that the treasure inside is a real cake! To preserve the freshness of the sponge and the integrity of the cream or frosting, we still recommend keeping the entire unit in the fridge until you are ready for the big reveal. This ensures that when you finally open the shell, the cake is chilled, delicious, and at its best for your guests.

The bomb casing itself comes in a classic, standard black colour to maintain that iconic classic bomb look that makes the surprise so effective. Because these are specialised plastic casings, we are not able to change the colour of the shell.

The good news is that the cake inside is fully customisable! You can choose the flavour and the theme of the cake to match your party's aesthetic perfectly. We also offer a variety of pre-designed themed cakes if you are looking for something tried-and-tested and ready to go. Whether it is a favourite character, a specific colour palette, or a personalised message, the interior of the bomb is your canvas.

Our production process adheres to rigorous guidelines: we absolutely do not use any pork, lard, or alcohol in our cakes or any of our ingredients.
