How the Reveal Works

1. The cake arrives already sealed inside the shell, positioned so the design is protected in transit. Keep the whole unit in the fridge until you are ready.
2. Light the sparkler with a long-necked kitchen lighter. Stand about a metre back and cover your eyes as it catches.
3. The shell springs open within seconds, so have the camera running before you light it.
4. Keep the shell. Wash it out and it becomes a storage box.

Is an Explosion Bomb Cake Safe?

Yes. Nothing detonates and nothing combusts inside the shell. What you are lighting is a sparkler, the same kind you have seen on a birthday cake in a restaurant, positioned to look like a burning fuse.

• Stand about a metre back and cover your eyes at the moment of lighting
• An adult should light it, and children should be supervised throughout

The Shell Is Yours to Keep

The casing is not edible. It is durable black plastic, and that is deliberate.

Chocolate shells photograph well and behave badly in Singapore. They soften between our kitchen and your table, and they will not survive a car boot in the afternoon. A plastic casing is completely heat-resistant, so the shell looks the same as it did when we handed it over.

It also means you keep it. Wash it out after the party and customers use them for jewellery, keys or small keepsakes. Every bomb cake leaves something behind after the cake is gone.

Size, Servings and Flavours

Inside is a freshly made 6-inch cake, which serves 5 to 7 people. Feeding a larger group? Many customers pair the bomb cake with a second, larger cake. Message us with your headcount.
